Da’wah Under a Big Tree
Visit to Boli
Members converged at the Tamale Teaching Hospital and Abedi Pele roundabout and bus set off from TTH at about 6:50am. The bus then moved towards upper west region of Ghana until we reached Boli at about 11:30 am.The people of the community had gathered already at the village square under a big tree just in front of the central Masjid. The chief Imam of the village begun the programme by praying i.e. requesting for the protection and guidance of Allah throughout the activities of the day.
The assembly man of the community introduced the representative of the chief to the members of Sadaqa Train as the chief had travelled to Wa for the Damba festival. Abbas being well versed in the Wala language, introduced Sadaqa Train and informed the people of the community why we had come to visit them.
A Da'wah session was delivered by Hisham to the people of the community about the blessings Allah has bestowed upon us and how we should be grateful to Him.
A health talk was presented on blood pressure and Hepatitis B delivered by Yahaya Mundaseru. He spoke about its prevalence state, causes, signs and symptoms, mode of transmission, risk, factors and prevention. As the health screening and counselling was ongoing, some members were quizzing the kids of the community in the masjid. Prizes were given out to kids who were able to answer questions correctly.
After the screening exercise, members of Sadaqa Train donated some essential materials which included cement, paint, clothes etc to the community.
The Imam concluded the event with a closing prayer. We also thanked them for their time and attention.
Let me add that during our visit, one member of the community accepted Islaam, proclaimed the "shahaada" and agreed to be called Salia. Alhamdulillah.
